We strip the existing tiles or slates, re-check every rafter for rot or sag, lay a breathable membrane, re-batten to the correct gauge, then re-lay using reclaimed sound tiles topped up with new matched stock. Lead flashings are renewed, ridges dry-fixed, and the whole envelope brought back up to BS 5534 — for typically 25–35% less than a full re-roof.

How is this different from a full re-roof?

A re-roof replaces the entire covering with new. A recovery salvages the sound existing tiles and tops up. You get the same membrane, battens and leadwork — but pay 25–35% less. Only viable when the existing covering is still in good shape.

What if more tiles are damaged than you estimated?

We tile-count on the original survey from photographs and a roof-walk. If we find more damage on strip, we ring you with a fixed price for the extra before continuing. No surprises on the invoice.

Will the colour match?

Reclaimed tiles weather to match within 12–18 months. New top-up tiles are colour-matched at the merchant and blended across the roof — never grouped in one patch.

What guarantee comes with reclaimed tiles?

The 15-year workmanship guarantee covers the install — fixings, lap, leadwork. We can't guarantee individual reclaimed tiles against age failure, but we replace any that fail in year one for free.
