We clear the valley to bare metal/GRP, re-seal lap joints and re-bed any loose tile cuts on the cheek.

Inspect joints
Every lap joint inspected for cracking. Hairline cracks sealed with lead sealant; bigger failures we'd quote a relay separately.
Re-bed cuts
Loose tile cuts on the valley cheek re-bedded in 3:1 mortar with a 50mm mortar shoulder to keep water tracking down the valley.
Test flow
Bucket of water poured at the head of the valley — should drain to the gutter in under 30 seconds with no ponding.

Slightly different — dry valleys use a continuous formed valley unit which can be cleared and inspected but rarely needs re-sealing. We quote the same baseline price.
How often should valleys be cleared?
Annually if you have overhanging trees, every two years otherwise. We can include valleys in an Annual Roof MOT booking.
Can you replace the lead valley?
Yes — a full lead valley replacement starts at £680 per metre, scaffold included. We'd quote that separately after seeing the existing.
